Jack White, Patti Smith, Marcus Mumford, and Conor Oberst will all take the stage for an upcoming benefit concert centered around the forthcoming Coen Brothers film Inside Llewyn Davis. As the New York Times points out, the September 29 event will celebrate the folk music of the 1960s while promoting the soundtrack for Joel and Ethan Coen's next movie. Organized by T Bone Burnett, "Another Day, Another Time: Celebrating the Music of Inside Llewyn Davis" takes place at Town Hall in New York City with a portion of the proceeds going toward the National Recording Preservation Foundation, a nonprofit created by Congress to underwrite efforts to conserve music and radio archives.

Other artists booked for the showcase include the Avett Brothers, the Decemberists' Colin Meloy, Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings, Joan Baez, the Punch Brothers, Lake Street Dive, and Milk Carton Kids, all of whom will perform folk classics. Several members of the Inside Llewyn Davis cast will also step onstage: Carey Mulligan, Oscar Isaac, John Goodman, and Stark Sands are all set to appear. Justin Timberlake also stars in the flick and contributes to the official soundtrack, but he hasn't been confirmed for the event's lineup.

Due in select theaters December 6, Inside Llewyn Davis follows "a week in the life of a young singer as he navigates the Greenwich Village folk scene of 1961" (via IMDb). According to the Times, the film is loosely based on the life of singer-guitarist Dave Van Ronk, who passed away in 2002. The soundtrack arrives November 12 via Nonesuch Records and features Timberlake singing folk songs with several of his castmates; the 14-track collection also includes a previously unreleased Bob Dylan song called "Farewell," which was originally recorded during the sessions for "The Times They Are a-Changin'."

T Bone Burnett produced the Inside Llewyn Davis soundtrack, marking his fourth collaboration with the Coen Brothers. The Americana legend also helmed the Grammy-winning soundtrack for the Coens' 2002 film O, Brother Where Art Thou?

Tickets for "Another Day, Another Time: Celebrating the Music of Inside Llewyn Davis" go on sale Wednesday, August 21 at noon via Ticketmaster.
