Three minutes of this is still better than three hours of 'Pirates of the Caribbean 3'
On one end of the "Pirates" spectrum, you have Rick Ross, and on the complete other end, you have the oddball sea chantey "Asshole Rules the Navy" by Iggy Pop featuring Hawk and a Hacksaw. This dirty little tale comes to us from the Johnny Depp-curated Son of Rogue's Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs and Chanteys, the ultra-weird swashbuckling compilation that also gave us the Tom Waits/Keith Richards' collaboration "Shenandoah." Pop actually contributed two cuts to Rogue's: "Asshole Rules the Navy" and "The Dreadnought" featuring Elegant Too.
Son of Rogue's Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs and Chanteys is out February 19 on ANTI-.
