Iceland's Music is Hot in Reykjavik Rock Doc

Exclusive! Watch the trailer for Icelandic rock documentary Screaming Masterpiece, featuring Bjork, Sigur Ros, and Mum.

Despite the snow-capped mountain majesty and glacial cool of Iceland, there is at least one red-hot spot: the music scene in Reykjavik. Directed and written by Ari Alexander Ergis Magnússon, Screaming Masterpiece (that's Gargandi Snilld in the mother tongue) explores the thriving local music culture, and takes a historical approach (from Eric the Red to Bjork the Sugarcube) in an attempt to explain why Iceland has such a rich and unique musical climate. With performances by global Icelandic superstars like Bjork, Sigur Ros, Quarashi, Mum, and Bang Gang, poetic landscapes, and more than two extra hours of interviews with featured artists, Screaming Masterpiece proves Iceland is more than fjords and umlauts. The Screaming Masterpiece DVD will rock store shelves on March 6, care of Milan Records. The soundtrack on One Little Indian is in stores now.
