Last we heard from How to Dress Well, the sensitive soul born Tom Krell was busy basking in the minimal majesty of an ancient Bill Callahan cover. But now he’s back to the gooped-out purple-hued R&B that we know him for. Above, press play on “Words I Don’t Remember” and watch the man’s face subtly shift in the same manner of his silken coo.
Krell shared a few words with Pitchfork: “This song for me is about love, trust, commitment… and what happens to these things and, like, what happens to really real love when sentimentality is so co-opted and ruined. What remains of true love in this world of simulations?” No word yet as to whether or not this’ll land on a proper follow-up to 2012’s Total Loss.
