Sacramento-based noise rock collective Holy Smokes' forthcoming LP, Talk to Your Kids About Gangs (out Nov. 7), isn't for those seeking conventional pop tunes or linear song structures. But those who listen intently will find a strangely lovely melody behind a discordant field of garage clang and powerhouse electro zaps, especially on "Pretty Much None of Us Know Anything." The song, founder Zach Hill told SPIN.com, is "designed to sound like [it's by] a group performing in another dimension. It's as if you could listen to it in 2080."
