Ohio-born garage rockers the Heartless Bastards are set to release fourth album Arrow on Valentine's Day. Erika Wennerstrom's rough, biting, rye-whiskey flask of a voice, however, suggests less settling down than rambling on, a mood that advance track "Parted Ways" expands gloriously. The roadhouse-ready uptempo rocker has the feel of four grizzled vets jamming together in a room, and in the new video for the song, that's exactly what we see. The artfully constructed clip shows black-and-white footage of Heartless Bastards laying down the track in the studio. Their evident, freewheeling chemistry is a reminder why, come February 14, so many musicians will choose the romance of the road. "To a wide open space," Wennerstrom howls, and then a blues-scorched guitar solo breaks free.
