Hear Mark Mothersbaugh’s Latest for Wes Anderson’s ‘Moonrise Kingdom’

“Wes Anderson,” Mark Mothersbaugh says, “is at times delightful, frustrating, confusing, enigmatic and a genius.” The 62-year-old Devo co-founder would know, having provided original music for the lion’s share of Anderson’s filmography, from Bottle Rocket and Rushmore to The Royal Tenenbaums and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. But Anderson’s latest, Moonrise Kingdom (which premiered this week in Cannes) marks a reunion between the two. Mothersbaugh contributed “Camp Ivanhoe Cadence Medley,” the original percussion composition streaming exclusively below.
