The National are releasing an expanded version of their excellent disc High Violet this week, but a b-side titled "Wake Up Your Saints" has leaked online. Hear it below!

The track is a sonic departure from the cinematic, brooding vibe of Violet, with bouncing piano lines, finger snaps, bright brass melodies, and a crisp backbeat. Still, frontman Matt Berninger delivers a wounded narrative of love and loss. "Hole in the middle, I'm seeing less of you," he croons in his deep baritone. "And I'm not going anywhere and I don't know what I'll do / It's easy to lose your friends / It's easy."
