Watch Hamilton Leithauser’s Jubilant ‘Alexandra’ on ‘Conan’

Hamilton Leithauser, "Alexandra," 'Conan,' The Walkmen

“I don’t think back / I don’t need to / But I’m always thinking of you.” Hamilton Leithauser sings that more than once on the rollicking “Alexandra,” from the Walkmen frontman’s upcoming solo album Black Hours (due out June 3 via Ribbon Music; pre-order it here). It’s a great line, but it’s also an effective tip of the cap to his long-running East Coast band. He bounded through the song with his band last night on Conan; watch that above.

Leithauser debuted the album at Joe’s Pub in New York last month, and he has also shared a video for Amber Coffman-assisted uplifter “11 O’Clock Friday Night.” In other post-Walkmen goings-on, Peter Matthew Bauer’s Latin American Ficciones arrives next month, and Walter Martin’s We’re All Young Together drops on May 13 via Family Jukebox. Not thinking back, don’t need to, but always thinking.
