Grohl, Gaga Do Muppets, New Madonna + More
Plus: Spider-Man musical gets delayed again, Lil Wayne and Mötley Crüe added to Bamboozle, and more.
Dave Grohl and Jack Black will join Lady Gaga in cameo roles for the new Muppets movie. The film, written by actor Jason Segel (who already concocted a Muppet-like musical in Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and in theaters next November, will find Grohl standing in for drummer Animal while he attends anger management classes. Madonna is gearing up to make her first record since 2008’s Hard Candy. The Queen of Pop’s manager Guy Oseary posted a message from Madonna on Twitter that she’s sourcing producers and collaborators for her next record. “I need to move,” she wrote. “I need to sweat. I need to make new music! Music I can dance to. I’m on the look out for the maddest, sickest, most bad ass people to collaborate with.” [Guy Oseary’s Twitter]
The official opening of the troubled Spider-Man musical has been delayed for the fourth time. Producers have pushed the January 11 debut to an unspecified February date. The delay will allow creators to work on rewrites and perhaps insert new music from U2‘s Bono and The Edge, who have been called in to work full-time on the show later this month.
