Nominations for the 48th annual Grammy Awards are surprisingly eclectic: U2, Gorillaz, Fall Out Boy, Franz Ferdinand, the Arcade Fire, Coldplay, LCD Soundsystem, the White Stripes, and Weezer were all nominated for awards. Gorillaz are up for multiple awards for their most recent album Feel Good Inc., including Record of the Year and Best Collaboration with Vocals. Fall Out Boy is up for Best New Artist honors, while the Arcade Fire is up for Best Alternative Album against fierce competition from Beck, Death Cab for Cutie, Franz Ferdinand, and the White Stripes. In addition to Gorillaz, the Stripes, Coldplay, Franz Ferdninand, and Gwen Stefani received multiple nominations, with Stefani's Love.Angel.Music.Baby raking in five nods.
