Gorillaz Emerge from Mist

They’re not monkeying around this time: Gorillaz, the band with cartoon alter egos, plan to bring along everyone who worked on their album (of three and two dimensions) for an upcoming tour. This is no small feat, considering founding Talking Heads bassist Tina Weymouth, Happy Mondays lead singer Shaun Ryder, De La Soul, Pharcyde, and Dennis Hopper all contributed to Demon Days. “We’ve settled for a week somewhere…I’m not going to say where, or when, but definitely later this year,” Gorillaz’ mortal representative Damon Albarn told MTV Europe. “Only one town, but not London, and that’s the time we’ll have everyone together on the one stage.” Jamie Hewlett, the animator behind Gorillaz’ cartoon counterparts, said, “Logistically it’s quite a big one to arrange…But it’s…definitely happening. Like a monster truck show, but with people.”
