Are Gnarls Barkley ‘Crazy’ Enough to Reunite? Possibly!

Gnarls Barkley, reunion, 2014, Cee Lo Green, Danger Mouse

Start penciling a Gnarls Barkley reunion onto your 2014 calendars. Cee Lo Green, asked by a TMZ airport ambush interviewer if he’ll be reviving his duo with Danger Mouse, can be seen in the video below answering, “Yeah, man — like, next year.” TMZ ambush interview: “Really?” Cee Lo: “Yeah.” It’s not quite an official press release, but there you have it.

It’s not as if either Cee Lo or Brian “Danger Mouse” Burton have lacked for projects since Gnarls Barkley’s 2008 album The Odd Couple. When not putting out solo albums or reuniting Atlanta rap crew Goodie Mob, Green has been a coach on The Voice. He even published a memoir this year, titled Everybody’s Brother. Danger Mouse’s Broken Bells effort with the Shins’ James Mercer has a new album, After the Disco, on the way on January 14 via Columbia Records. That’s on top of production work with Frank Ocean and the Black Keys.

If a hinted OutKast reunion at Coachella 2014 actually happens, it would make sense for Gnarls Barkley — whose members met on tour with the legendary rap duo — to show up there, too. But before you make any last-minute changes to your Christmas list, please bear in mind this is all via TMZ aiport video at this point, meaning it could be 100 percent accurate, or it could be Lil Wayne receiving his last rites.
