Insane Clown Posse’s Gathering of the Juggalos 2013 Infomercial Is Here!
Duo, as demented newsmen, announce Vanilla Ice, Rittz, Rahzel, more
Insane Clown Posse have shared the latest infomercial for their annual five-day Illinois blowout, the Gathering of the Juggalos. The 30-minute clip continues a legacy of wonderfully hammy videos promoting the event now entering its 14th year. This next iteration goes down August 7 through 11 at the historic outlaw outpost of Cave-in-Rock. In order to make the announcement, our pals Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope have become the demented news anchor duo known as Fats Pepper and Guy Gofrey. Headliners include Vanilla Ice, Brotha Lynch Hung, Tech N9ne, and, of course, ICP. It feels like Christmas morning, doesn’t it?
The massive festival includes a mix of clown-faced horrorcore stars, hardcore rap acts, and nü-metal loyalists. Additional top-billed music talent includes Blaze Ya Dead Homie, Onyx, Rittz, Twiztid (“in all their white-faced, black-eyed splendor-ness”), Swollen Members, Soulfly, Rahzel, Kottonmouth Kings, Sevendust, Big Hoodoo, Psycho Realm, Kung Fu Vampire, Zug Izland (the “original lineup,” thank God), Boondox, and ABK. Violent J crosses over into a Garrison Keillor-like soliloquy when introducing Juicy J cosign Lil Wyte: “He’s white. He’s little. Put that in rap form, and you get Lil Wyte … He’s white … White as a snowman.”)
In addition to all of the insanely heavy music, the Gathering will feature a comedy stage headlined by Charlie Murphy, an always-active pro-wrestling arena, tons of contests (including the 2 Tuff Tonys Fishing Tournament), a freak show, carnival rides, Texas hold ‘em competitions, female oil wrestling (“a great place to grow a chubby,” says Voice Ninja), and numerous other “sideshows.” Props to our girl Sugar Slam for the hot tip on DJ Clay’s Horney [sic] Nuts and Big Butts Party. For more on the main event, visit the Gathering of the Juggalos site. Of course, we all know you came for the clip above.
We’ll be sure to report on the inevitable Saturday Night Live spoof as well, though it’s worth noting, as Gawker has, that Funny or Die’s Juggalo News Network is already a thing. A classic case of life imitating art imitating life-after-death-lived-out-as-a-zombie-clown.
