Future Islands’ ‘Doves’ Gets Dance-ified by Depeche Mode’s Vince Clarke

Erasure frontman and former Depeche Mode member Vince Clarke has taken Future Islands’ “Doves” and turned it into a strangely poppy four-on-the-floor banger. This remix from the synth-pop giant (see also Erarue, Yazoo, VCMG) provides yet another credibility booster to Future Islands’ growing popularity, which extends far more broadly than a single video full of amazing dance moves. It’s additionally another feather in the decorated cap of Clarke, who helped to produce Bleachers’ debut album Strange Desire.

Previously, Future Islands members tried their own hands at remixing, tackling Little Daylight’s track “Overdose” last spring. The group’s album, Singles, was released in March and was recently named one of Spin’s 50 Best Albums of 2014 so far.
