The Front Bottoms Fight Suburban Hometown Blues in ‘Funny You Should Ask’ Video

The Front Bottoms

New Jersey duo Front Bottoms excel at crafting folk-inflected pop-punk, songs occupied by characters that are too smart (and too sensitive) for their own good. Take “Funny You Should Ask,” a sweet yet snarling highlight from the Garden State duo’s latest album, the recently released Talon of the Hawk. “C’mon Chelsea / Speak a little French on me,” sings lead guitarist Brian Sella. “Heard you spent two whole semesters drinking wine / While I was stuck in Jersey / Trying to save some money / Guess I’m just another thing you left behind.”

Now the two have shared a video for the track, one that finds Sella and drummer Matt Uychich holed up — where else — at home, playing music and keeping their pet alligator company. Watch it above, find tour dates below, and grab Talon of the Hawk via iTunes.
