Sunday night at the MTV VMAs, Kanye West gave Taylor Swift a thinly-veiled apology in the form of his live debut of “Runaway,” in which he toasts the “assholes,” “jerk offs,” and the “douchebags.” Meta! A studio version of the track made it to ceaselessly shouting radio DJ Funk Master Flex’s blog the day after. Download the track here!

As expected, the track-off ‘Ye’s new album, tentatively titled Dark Twisted Fantasy, out November 16-sounds, well,a whole better. Which isn’t exactly a testament of ‘Ye’s live chops. Its bass rumbles; its piano plinks are icier; and the minutiae of its production-arguable one of his most important assets-shines. “I just blame everything on you / At least you know that’s what I’m good at / You’ve been putting up with my shit way too long,” West raps.
