Dan Boeckner: You know him as co-frontman of Montreal oddballs Wolf Parade. But, like members of most Canadian indie rock bands (is it something in the Labatts?), he has a side-project: Handsome Furs. The group -- a duo with his wife Alexei Perry -- released their debut album, Plague Park, in 2007 via Sub Pop. They return March 10 with their sophomore record, Face Control -- and if its first leak is any indication, the album may thrust this "side-project" up to the popularity of Boeckner's main gig.

With distorted guitar and lo-fi Casio blips and blops, "I'm Confused" is a riotous joyride through new wave, noise rock, dance, and indie-pop. "I'm confused / I'm confused," Boeckner shouts. "I know my love / I know it's easy to do!"
Sonic perplexity never sounded so good.
