Free: Broken Social Scene’s Awesome New Song

100219-broken-social-scene.jpg

After a five-year drought, Toronto collective Broken Social Scene have finally released new music — “World Sick,” the first leak from their May 5 release, Forgiveness Rock Record — and it’s an epic, shimmering reminder of the band’s power. Download “World Sick” at BSS’ website.

“World Sick” packages all of BSS’ positive traits into six minutes and 53 seconds: hyper melodic tangles of electric guitars, subtle ambience and rock muscle, Kevin Drew’s nasal yearning, and — best of all — those big sparkling crescendos that only an army of Canadians could produce.
