On the heels of her dreamy track "Sorrow," Frankie Rose is back with another '80s throwback, only this time it's way less upbeat. Her cover of the Damned's "Street of Dreams" is faithful to the original, though ramping up the ethereal vocals and electronic beatwork. While the song isn't likely to put a smile on your face, Rose sounds thrilled to bring it to life when she tours in support of her upcoming LP, Herein Wild.
"Coming off an album [2012's Interstellar] that is almost unperformable live, I definitely wanted the live show to reflect this record a little bit more," Rose told the New York Times, which premiered the track. "And plus, it’s just more fun to perform." Check out the song below and pick up Herein Wild on September 24 via Fat Possum.
