Stream Four Tet and Burial’s Hypnotic, Unreleased Collaboration

four tet, burial, beautiful rewind

Four Tet shared his entire Beautiful Rewind LP, then hit the, uh, rewind button and dropped a previously unreleased collaboration with Burial. Producer Kieran Hebden indulged in a marathon DJ session for Rinse FM, spinning for eight hours straight on October 6. The Rounds maker was joined by a few special guests, including Caribou and Floating Points, and he also debuted a tune that he crafted alongside longtime associate William Bevan, a.k.a. Burial.

“I hope someone’s recording this for YouTube,” Hebden said after kicking off the trancey team-up, and that’s exactly what one listener did. Now fans everywhere can marvel at the mulchy pulse, swirling vocals, and waves of ambiance that Four Tet and Burial have churned together. It’s not clear when the two paired for the track — Hebden introduced the song by simply saying it was born “a while back.” In any case, stream the as-yet-untitled number below, and head over to Rinse FM to hear the first two hours of Four Tet’s DJ duty.

Meanwhile, scroll down further to hear Hudson Mohawke’s scratchy remix of Beautiful Rewind highlight “Parallel Jalebi.” Beautiful Rewind lands in U.S. stores on October 15, but digital versions are already for sale on iTunes. The follow-up to 2012’s Pink comes by way of Hebden’s very own Text Records imprint.
