Just in: Foo Fighters will rock the 2011 MTV Movie Awards with a performance of their next single “Walk,” from the band’s excellent new album Wasting Light. The show will be broadcast live from the Gibson Ampitheater in Universal City, CA, and air on MTV Sunday, June 5, at 9 PM/ET.Lupe Fiasco and Trey Songz will also perform at the 20th annual show.

MTV has roped in plenty of A-List firepower to give out awards: Nicki Minaj, Aziz Ansari, Steve Carrell, Shia LaBeouf, Danny McBride, and Leighton Meester are among the 17 celebrity presenters, while SNL vet Jason Sudeikis will MC the fete.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, Black Swan, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 1, Inception, and The Social Network will duke it out in the category of Best Movie. The network will also give out awards for Best Jaw-Dropping Moment in a Movie (we’re rooting for James Franco cutting off his arm in 127 Hours), Biggest Badass Star (Robert Downey Jr in Iron Man 2, natch), and Best Kiss (Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis in Black Swan is a total lock). See the complete list of nominees over at MTV.
