The core Fighters — Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, and Chris Shiflett — will be joined onstage by violinist Petra Haden, ex-Wallflower Rami Jaffee on keys, Drew Hester on percussion, and former Foo Fighter (and Germ) Pat Smear on guitar. Timmy Curran will open the three July dates, and Frank Black will play on the four August dates. The band’s other major summer appearance comes June 17 at London’s Hyde Park, where a sold-out audience of 85,000 is expected.
