Watch Foo Fighters Mash-Up a New Song With ‘The Pretender’

foo fighters new song outside

The Foo Fighters are experts at building buzz for their albums, not that they need it. At a stop on their U.K. tour last night, the alt-rock heroes premiered an instrumental version of their new song “Outside,” sliding it in as an interlude after one of their biggest hits, “The Pretender.” The track will appear on the band’s forthcoming President Obama-approved Sonic Highways album and TV show — get the details here (and a preview here) — set for a November 10 release via Roswell Records. The fun starts at the 2-minute mark in the video above and by the sound of it, “Outside” is set to be another success in the Foo Fighters’ deep catalogue, what with its untouchable guitar licks and positively anthemic melody. Watch the Foos — who performed again as the Holy Shits — debut “Outside” above.
