Foo Fighters Dressed as KISS and Covered Black Sabbath’s ‘War Pigs’ for Halloween

For the episode of Sonic Highways that culminated in the recording of “Congregation,” Foo Fighters went south to Nashville, Tennessee. And like the last few weeks, the band celebrated the episode with a small show in that city. Considering that this week’s episode aired on Halloween, as Consequence of Sound points out, Dave Grohl and company put together something extra special in the form of a series of covers.

The 26-song set went through versions of Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs,” David Bowie and Queen’s “Under Pressure,” and Cheap Trick’s “Stiff Competition” all while completely decked out in KISS’ iconic makeup. You can catch an Instagram shot of Grohl’s makeup below as well as videos of the set both above and below, including the live debut of “Congregation.”
