With his fifth album You’re Dead! coming on October 7 via Warp, Flying Lotus has revealed yet another track from the much-anticipated LP. Unlike the frenetic Kendrick Lamar collaboration “Never Catch Me,” this song is much more relaxed and soulful, anchored by a simple beat, subtle-yet-forceful bass line, and layers of barely decipherable falsetto vocals. Put all those ingredients together and you get this eerily beautiful joint, “Coronus, the Terminator,” the name of which has more to do with Greek mythology and less about killer cyborgs from the future (sigh).
