Fergie Defends Aguilera, Rise Against Tour + More

  • Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie has defended Christina Aguilera's flubbed performance of "The Star-Spangled Banner" at this year's Super Bowl. "It's such a huge venue, your nerves take a hold of you," she said. "I completely understand... You get nervous at these things. We're human." Fergie also talked about her own group'shalftime show but dodged addressing its imperfections, saying simply, "Some of my notes were pitchy to me." [MTV]

  • Rise Against will hit the road for a 27-date tour with Bad Religion and Four Year Strong this Spring. The trek kicks off April 5 in Las Vegas and wraps on May 14 in Chicago. Tickets go on sale February 12. [Rise Against's Official Site]

  • The Strokes will release a new single, "Under Cover of Darkness," as a free download on their official website for 48 hours, starting tomorrow (Feb. 9).   • Check out Yo La Tengo acting out the entire Seinfeld episode "The Chinese Restaurant" at a recent gig in Chicago. The stunt was part of the tour's concept, where they ask a fan to spin a wheel and perform whatever it lands on. In this night's instance, the wheel instructed them to act out a classic sitcom.
