Exclusive Song: NOFX Dis Tegan and Sara

MP3

NOFX
NOFX

Forget George W., NOFX have a new target: Tegan and Sara, the Canadian duo of singing lesbian twins, who get dissed in "Creeping Out Sara," a track off California pop-punk band's new record, Coaster (out April 28).

Over three silly minutes, NOFX vocalist Fat Mike tells a tale of meeting one of the sisters backstage at a festival in Germany, but not being able to tell which one. After realizing that he's talking with Sara (he heard Tegan was "the cooler one"), he proceeds to completely "creep" her out by asking if she knows where to score some pills or cocaine -- and if she's ever engaged in sexual acts with her sister (yuck!). To top it off, Mike manages to include a bevy of lesbian-related pop-cultural references, from Angelina Jolie's 1998 HBO film Gia to crooner K.D. Lang.

Hate the lyrics? Look on the bright side: "Creeping Out Sara" features the guitar-driven pop-punk formula that NOFX have perfected over their 26 years in the game.

Check out the tune below. And try not to offend anyone in the comments section.

Heh. I think everyone's aware that Fat Mike is going to do and say what Fat Mike wants to do and say...because it's entertaining to him. It's entertaining to others too.

Seriously - I doubt anyone who is familliar with either band would call this a 'dis'. I mean - this isn't nearly as bad as him telling a crowd of people at the Bizarre (sp?) Festival in Germany that he had anal sex with Shirley Manson of Garbage backstage before their set. It's all in good fun.

Wow, it seems that Spin.com has become a place for everyone to gather and act like we are in junior high. Somebody doesn't agree with your taste in music and they are stupid? I am an avid fan of Tegan and Sara and I am not going to throw a hissy fit about this song. NOFX can say what they want I don't think people take them too seriously. Tegan and Sara have great senses of humor and probably didn't get all butt-hurt by this song.

I thought this song was classic NOFX. If you are a fan you understand. These guys have no boundaries when it comes to dissin'......No man is above getting smashed on when it comes to these punk ledgends .You didn't hear the president complain when "The War on Errorism" was released...If anything these two sisters should feel honored to have a song written about them, I know I would....By the way...if you don't like it....then don't listen....duh!!!

I agree with everything you've just said, except for one thing I found offensive. 'I don't know if you're stupid, gay, or just a woman.' Hello, woman speaking. What, women can't listen to good music? What the hell do you think we all listen to? And also, I don't agree with the 'gay' comment, either. Does this mean that anyone who's gay is automatically stuck listening to ****ty music? Wow. That's a new one for me.

Nofx are like the Beatles, but good. Decline by itself makes em legendary, let alone at least 6 other amazing LPs.

Hopefully they talk **** on Obomba too, so they won't prove my suspicions correct that they are the typical state loving commies that is rampant in in pop media. Listen to Duane Peters Gunfight's new album; Checkmate. There's proof that punk is alive and still kickin. Wasn't it Nofx that said something like "We used to like beer and speed now the kids want fries and coke?"

I never said that I like them BECAUSE they that song happens to be easy. where did you read that, dude? I just said the song is simple and hillarious. that doesn't have to do anything with the fact that I do like NOFX a lot as a band. you, however, are totally lame and should learn how to read :).

Yeah, and people actually care about Christina Aguilera's music and not her marriage or obvious breast implants. You'd be surprised as to how many people show up to their shows.

You must think of yourself as an elitist right? NOFX is still making tons of money and playing music that people love, so you might want to rethink your statement; slick.Your close minded approach to music annoys me. Do me a grand favor; don't ever have kids, I'd rather not have this kind of ignorance spread around.

Have you heard Soulja Boy's Ice-T diss?
I find it to be genius in its simplicity.

It's called "Soulja Boy Tell 'Em" on his album "iSouljaboytellem"
This artistry should be recognized!!!!

this band and their fans have got to have the IQ of a BigMac. And are probably more fat.

I don't have Fuse. Now I'm glad I don't.

Anyone who doesn't like NOFX is stupid? You just said they're appealing *because* they're stupid and simple!!!
I guess you like that they're ugly too.

actually I think a lot of people still care about NOFX, which is why they had their own TV show on Fuse. However I don't think anyone who likes Tegan and Sara really cares about NOFX...

I honestly can't decide if the overly simplistic lyrics and idiotic subject matter make this song funny or just lame
