Courtney Love has found a home for Nobody's Daughter. Mercury/IDJ will release Hole's highly anticipated new album on April 27.

It took Love, who graces the cover of the March issue of SPIN, five years to finish Nobody's Daughter, during which time she told the magazine she relied on "the kindness of strangers" -- in reality, former collaborators like Linda Perry, Billy Corgan, and producer Michael Beinhorn, who helmed Hole's previous album, 1998's Celebrity Skin.

All three have since distanced themselves from the project.

Beinhorn quit after almost a year, citing frustration with Love's "fragmented focus." "She had a lot of things going on in her personal life that made it impossible to do the sort of work that I wanted," he says.

Though Perry declined to comment, Love tells SPIN that Perry, who cowrote America's Sweetheart, the singer-guitarist's 2004 solo debut, has been "incredibly gracious" and "gave me probably the best advice I ever received, which is to become a lesbian."

As SPIN previously reported, Hole's founding guitarist, Eric Erlandson, objects to Love's use of the band name since none of the former members are involved. The current line-up includes Love's roommate, 23-year-old British guitarist Micko Larkin, bassist Shawn Dailey (of Rock Kills Kid), and drummer Stuart Fisher. Jack Irons, formerly of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pearl Jam, played drums on the album.

The success of Nobody's Daughter is crucial to Love's long-awaited comeback, especially given her recent drama: She lost custody of daughter Frances Bean in December amid rumors of domestic abuse, and a restraining order prevents Love from contacting her.

"One time, Frances was being mean and she said, 'What are you going to do if this record fails?'" Love tells SPIN. "Well, Frances, it can't fail because I love it, and I've worked really hard to make sure that I love it."

It's funny how she spends all that Cobain money to pay PR people, papers & **** to Re-Write history and be presented as a somehow important part of rock history. It's funny how media people who are completely ignorant buy her sh!t. Everyone that was over 12 in the nineties knows she was NOONE before crawling her self into Kurt's bed. Ok she was known in Portland, L.A drug-circles but what crazy attention whoring groupie isn't ?She fed the press and biographers with nonsense LIES like ABOUT HER BEING MORE POPULAR THAN KURT when they first got together (to prove she no gold digger) and that her first album "pretty on the inside" was selling more than Kurts "bleach" when actually "Pretty On The Inside" was released the same week NEVERMIND was released. I bet putting out a record on a label like geffen is way more successful than putting out an album of Kat Bjelland and Kim Gordon left overs tunes by Caroline records.
Pathetic liar. Liar.Liar. Kurt wrote most of LTT, that's no secret. Billy Corgan wrote most of Celebrity skin, no secret. She never cared about music just fame ,money, celebrity and plastic surgery. The woman got breast implants right after her husband died. I bet that's all about legendary rock music, you fools.

No one should be surprised that she's crazy: her songs seem to be about herself, and they are about a crazy person. That said, she's very talented and if she wants to sell tickets to her breakdown, I'm willing to buy one.

Melissa Auf Der Maur was part of HOLE for 6 years! Through LIVE THROUGH THIS, MY BODY THE HAND GRENADE and CELEBRITY SKIN, lending her vocals, bass playing and co-writing.....Eric is founder of HOLE. To be this is Courtney Love using the name HOLE to draw in her old fan base. I do like the new song, although it seems a bit dated....like a Live Through This B-Side.....I thought maybe it would be a bit more fresh (like Celebrity Skin). I'm curious to see how the album turns out with her and the other no-name band members (one being her 23 year old roomate) LOL oh my.....

I adore HOLE and Courtney Love but ERIC ERLANDSON, MELISSA AUF DER MAUR and PATTY SCHEMEL were HOLE, Kristen died during the release of LIVE THROUGH THIS back in 1994, since then it's been them 4, Samantha Maloney took over Drums for Patty during the Celebrity Skin phase yes......but you can't have a HOLE reunion with a bunch of no name wannabe's **** one of the member's is Courtney's ROOMATE!!!! COME ON! HOLE IS COURTNEY, ERIC AND MELISSA sorry....I think she is attaching the HOLE name to draw in fans, but it's a gimmick, it's basically a second solo cd to me......

I am at a loss as to why anyone even cares... So it will or won't sound like a Hole album? Big deal! So it will or won't sound like it's 1994? Why can't we just bury these projects where they belong. Listen to Live Through This - it sounds awesome - but didn't we all move on a long time ago, before the Kurt avatars, Nirvana rights squabbles and custody battles that characterise the lurid tabloid merry-go-round that the Courtney Love Show has become has become ...

it's about ****ing time. if she changes the release date after this spin cover, it's over for sure. courtney is and always has been the heart of hole and i'm sure it will be an amazing album. she just needs to shut up and sing because no other chick holds a candle to her raw rock sound.

the thing is that Courtney and Eric really had a way of creativity that cannot be imitated by session musicians. This new line up really FEELS like a band of session musicians, like they're only doing it for the money. I think the songs sound promising and I will get the album anyway but as a Hole fan it is strange to think of this as the same band that went through Soooooo much together.

Just praying that this album is a great success in general. Though am sure it will be met with alot of criticism from other "Hole" members...

What "other members" are you talking about? Every single past Hole album has had an entirely different lineup. Courtney and Eric have been the only constant members. And now it's only Courtney. And if the new band can match the quality of the last Hole albums, then I really don't care who's involved.

I am super excited for this album, but to me it is not Hole. It's Courtney with a backing band. Either way, hopefully it will be a success for her.

I really hope she'll "stand and deliver," so to speak, and really show up with "the goods" come April 27th. If so, then it will truly be the best day of my life, musically.

Courtney should really consider touring Las Vegas, because she does have a surprisingly big following over here!

Would be cool if there is substance behind it... It's weird seeing a "Rock Star" kissing someone like Perez Hilton's ass ??

I loved Violet, Celebrity Skin, and America's Sweetheart, and I'm sure I'll find something to like in her newest adventure. I can't help feeling terribly sorry for this woman though. Years of dope, drink, and drama have left her wrecked and estranged from her daughter. Truly bad advice from Perry and a hefty dose of California-style self-involvement is just what Courtney doesn't need. Wish her the best of luck.

Say what you will about CLove's chaotic personal life, she could ROCK THE HOUSE DOWN back in the day. But she should not have called this album "HOLE." Eric Erlandson and Melissa Auf Der Muar are too talented to be just thrown away like that. Still, the controversy about her use of the name will spur sales. She still knows how to work her side-show persona for the media, and whether you're a fan of hers or just a fan of train wreaks, curiosity alone will certainly ensure this album sells.

i'm actually pretty stoked to check this out. i think Courtney is bat$hit crazy, but celebrity skin was on constant repeat in high school. i didnt care too much for her solo stuff, and i do think its weird that she's calling this Hole when there are no original ppl left, why not make a new name? all of that aside, this can either go one way or the other. and im actually rooting for her to get her $hit together, so i will check the album out when its released.
