Call it what you want: Dream-pop, shoegaze, space-pop, ambient indie-rock, electro-pop, et al. No matter the stamp, there's at least one universal aspect to New York quartet Longwave's music -- it's really pretty. And with Secrets Are Sinister, the band's fourth album out Nov. 11 via Original Signal Recordings, Longwave's ethereal, lush arrangements and floating melodies are getting decidedly epic. Case in point: "Sirens in the Deep Sea," an anthemic track punctuated by thick high-pitched synths, gigantic guitars, and frontman Steve Schiltz's whisper-to-shout vocals.
