Watch Elizabeth Olsen Sing Rilo Kiley Jenny Lewis Scored Movie

Jenny Lewis is lending a musical hand to upcoming feature drama Very Good Girls, and a clip from the film has arrived featuring Elizabeth Olsen singing a Rilo Kiley song. “Go Ahead” hails from Take Offs and Landings, the 2001 LP debut from Lewis’ old band, and the Godzilla star can be seen above nervously performing it at an open mic. The film is the directorial debut of Naomi Foner, mother of Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal, and will feature Dakota Fanning and Olsen as life-long friends who make a pact to lose their virginities before college. Their friendship, however, is snarled when they fall for the same artist played by Boyd Holbrook

That tension can be seen in the clip, as Olsen sings: “If you want to hold on to the first girl that you meet / Or if you want to settle down and plant roses at my feet / Go ahead, I wish you would.”

Demi Moore, Ellen Barkin, and Peter Sarsgaard also star in the film, as Pitchfork points out, which hits theaters starting July 25. Watch Lewis’ music video for “Just One of the Guys,” starring Anne Hathaway, Kristen Stewart, and Brie Larson in drag with gross facial hair and track suits, read our interview with the former Rilo Kiley singer, and check out her ultimate Valentine’s Day playlist
