We’ve already seen Eddie Vedder’s political “Imagine” cover from his solo set Portugal’s Super Bock Super Rock Festival, but the Pearl Jam frontman also had some other tricks up his sleeve in the form a rendition of “Tonight You Belong to Me” with Cat Power and of a cover of Neil Young’s “The Needle and the Damage Done”
Before the two shared a bottle of wine and duetted on the Ukelele Songs track, Vedder spoke highly of Chan Marshall, calling her “one of [his] favorite singers of all time” and describing her appearance as “very rare.” After that brief performance, Vedder broke out the classic quivering Young track. He’s covered it before with Pearl Jam, but his solo acoustic version is something to behold.
