Watch Dum Dum Girls Rip Through ‘Rimbaud Eyes’ at SXSW

Dum Dum Girls delivered a stunning performance at SPIN’s House of Vans party at South By Southwest, so much so that the show ranked among the 40 Best Things We Saw at SXSW 2014. We’re biased, of course, but as our own Jem Aswad noted, “Dum Dum Girls have come a long way since their last time around, with a revamped lineup and a male (!) guitarist adding subtle but robust fills to the group’s resolutely straightforward girl-group rock, which in this set focused heavily on the band’s two most recent albums.” Now we’ve got a snippet of that gig to share with those of you who missed out on the annual Austin festival. Above you’ll find footage of frontwoman Dee Dee Penny and co. playing “Rimbaud Eyes,” a highlight from Dum Dum Girls’ latest LP, this year’s Too True. Watch the clip, find a close-up shot of Dum Dum Girls in SPIN’s Best SXSW 2014 Portraits, and pick up Too True over at iTunes.
