Dude Who Knocked Out Glenn Danzig Writing a Book About It

Danny Marianino, a.k.a. the dude from North Side Kings who punched out Glenn Danzig, is celebrating the eighth anniversary of punching Glenn Danzig by publishing a book about it. Apparently the book is more than just an iPad looping a .gif of Marianino punching Danzig, it “profiles a regular guy’s journey in music and learning to shrug off one of the most opinionated events in music history. Plus an amazing amount of hate mail.” Guess that whole “playing music” thing didn’t work out so well, huh?

Anyway, there’s a Facebook page (via the AV Club) for it and everything, so it certainly will exist very soon. As for Glenn’s side of the story? Well, he told SPIN in 2007: “No one asks, ‘Why did you push him instead of nailing him right in the face?’ ‘Cause there’s a camera rolling! I have so many friends who’ve lost tons of money from that setup, punching people and getting sued. One of my guys a long time ago worked for Guns N’ Roses and he told me, ‘You’re lucky you’ve never been sued.’ He said Duff McKagan would go into these clubs, and a guy would have a friend there with a camera: ‘Hey, Guns N’ Roses pussy!’ [Strikes fist against palm, mimicking a punch] And they’d walk out. Next day, million-dollar lawsuit.”

This dude is a lot bigger than us, so our upcoming book on punching Aaron Carter will probably not be nearly as illuminating. Watch the video for the millionth time below:
