When SPIN partnered with 2K Sports to help curate the 13-song soundtrack for Major League Baseball 2K12, we hit up Alabama rap duo G-Side, who we recently profiled, for assistance. Stephen "ST 2 Lettaz" Harris and David "Yung Clova" Williams were so pumped about the project, they refused to toss an old song into the mix, and instead got their in-house production team, Block Beattaz, to whip up a brand-new synthtastic head-nodder called "Put Me in the Game." You can grab the track as a free download below and spin some of the other tracks on the playlist, too.
Both G-Side MCs have experience with America's pastime, but while Yung Clova says, "Baseball's easy to talk about," ST 2 Lettaz admits his goal was to "relate the game to life" in the track. As far as their personal video game skills go, ST 2 Lettaz ranks his partner as "50/50. He'll play with you if he knows how to play but if he knows you're great at it and you'll demolish him, he won't even try." Yung Clova's perfectly reasonable response: "I just don't feel like losing!"
As SPIN told you last week, the ninth iteration of the ever-popular MLB 2K series is due in stores on March 6 and it's rated E for everyone!
