Don't Pity Our Petty Party

The sun goes down, and Vegoose goes dancing to Tom Petty's classic canon.

Gather round really close and I'll tell you a secret: Tom Petty isn't in the running for the next cover of Spin. Or the one after that. But for the second time this year, we couldn't think of a better way to cap a sun-soaked festival day than cracking open a cold beer and spending the night with Petty. Well, we did have a few killer ideas after the show, but that's going to stay in Vegas, okay? With the ever-dependable Heartbreakers backing him up, Petty glided through a hit-studded set that peaked with a deliciously endless version of "It's Good to Be King." Here are some choice photos from Petty's set from Spin's Owen Fegan and college correspondent Michael Clawson. Enjoy!
