Don’t Download ‘Weird Al’!

Downloading music is the gateway drug according to “Weird Al” Yankovic, whose new song, “Don’t Download This Song,” is, naturally, free for download! On the track, which is featured on forthcoming album Straight Outta Lynwood (out Sept. 26), he sings, “You start out stealing songs / Then you’re robbing liquor stores / And selling crack and running over school kids with your car.” The satirical P.S.A. is delivered with a glorious backing choir who rejoices in concert with the cheeky singer/songwriter. The next time you’re interested in breaking international copyright laws, heed “Weird Al”‘s words: “Go and buy the CD like you know that you should,” else the RIAA will sue and “treat you like the evil, hard-bitten, criminal-scum you are.”
