A month after DJ AM, a.k.a. Adam Goldstein, was discovered dead in his New York City apartment, the medical examiner has ruled that the celebrity disc jockey died from an accidental overdose of cocaine and prescription drugs, the Associated Press reports.

Toxicology reports released Tuesday found a variety of drugs in the 36-year-old's body, including cocaine, painkillers OxyContin and Vicodin, sedatives Ativan, Klonopin, Xanax, t he antihistamine Benadryl, and Levamisole, a cancer treatment drug also used to cut cocaine.

The results follow a series of reports claiming that Goldstein had eight undigested OxyContin pills in his stomach, and a ninth in his mouth, when police discovered his body August 28, suggesting he swallowed the pills quickly in a possible suicide attempt. "He wanted to die," a source told People. "He was going unconscious when he took the last one. He didn't even swallow it."

As previously reported, a crack pipe and bag of crack cocaine were discovered on Goldstein's lifeless body.

Despite reports, the medical examiner's office maintains that the death was unintentional.

"We've done the testing and investigation in conjunction with the NYPD and in our opinion this was an accidental overdose rather than suicide," Medical Examiner spokeswoman Ellen Borakove told People.

Goldstein, who suffered with drug addiction and depression in the 1990s but claimed to be sober for 11 years before his recent relapse, was filming a drug-intervention reality show called "Gone Too Far" for MTV. The series, which was set to premiere Monday, has been put on hold pending talks between MTV and Goldstein's family, reports Reuters. The network had shot eight episodes, and Goldstein had Tweeted that they wrapped shooting in Connecticut three days before his death.

The results come one year after Goldstein and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker -- known for their music project TRVSDJAM -- survived a plane crash in South Carolina, which killed the four others: both pilots and two members of Barker's entourage. Barker is now the sole survivor of the crash.
