Reunited proto-grunge heroes Dinosaur Jr. have announced a 28-date spring tour, set to kick off April 1 in Milford, CT.The band -- whose original lineup reunited in 2007 for its first album in 18 years, Beyond -- will hit venues across the Eastern Seaboard and Southeast before wrapping May 2 in Baltimore, MD.

Detroit garage-rock revivalists Awesome Color, Southern psych-rock band Dead Confederate, and ex-Minutemen/sometime Stooges bassist Mike Watt and his band, the Secondmen, will open select dates.

As an added bonus, all ticket-buying concertgoers (not you, scalpers!) will get a free 7" or digital download with two songs: Brand new track "I Don't Wanna Go There" and You're Living All Over Me gem "Tarpit." Both were recorded at Mascis' home studio in Massachusetts, where Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore also recorded his latest solo effort, Trees Outside the Academy.

The tour kicks off a sure-to-be-busy 2009 for Dinosaur Jr.: The trio recently signed to a new label, Jagjaguwar, and a spokesperson has confirmed that they're completing a follow-up to Beyond, tentatively slated for release this summer.
