Digitalism

Who? Digitalism — German DJs Jens Moelle and Ismail Tuefeki — has been making music together since 2000 when Tuefeki met at Moelle at a record store. Since then, the stylish duo has gone on to deliver high profile remixes for Klaxons, the Futureheads, and Depeche Mode. Their debut LP, Idealism, is out now via Astralwerks.

What’s the Deal? Digitalism’s electro rock blend featuring fresh Daft Punk-like beats and moody rhythms similar to Interpol, the 15-song Idealism gives the group a chance to show off their own dance rock prowess. Tracks such as the upbeat “Pogo” showcase Digitalism’s eclectic side of electronica, exclaiming, There’s something in the air!” while club hit “Zdarlight” taps a little drum’n’bass with a dash of guitar driven-rock.

Fun Fact: Digitalism digs in for long periods of time in a WWII underground bunker, home to their practice space and recording studio. DAMON SGRIGNOLI
