Destiny’s Child Announces Split

After over ten years together, Destiny’s Child announced that the group will call it quits at the close of its current tour, Destiny Fulfilled…and Lovin’ It. In a statement issued by the band to MTV News, the Independent Women said, “Our current tour has given us the opportunity to leave Destiny’s Child on a high note, united in our friendship and filled with an overwhelming gratitude for our music, our fans, and each other.” Rumors of a split have been rampant since the overwhelming success of Beyonce’s first solo album, Dangerously In Love in 2003. Let’s hope the bootylicious trio can remain friends after they’re no longer sharing a meal ticket.
