Watch Desert Noises’ Cosmic ‘Mice in the Kitchen’ Video

Desert Noises

Country-twanged outfit Desert Noises aim for the otherworldly in the music video for “Mice in the Kitchen,” a Western stomper from the band’s recently released 27 Ways. Guided by director Michael Palmieri, the clip features skewed, sprawling shots of the desert landscape in Goblin Valley State Park, which Desert Noises frontman Kyle Henderson describes as “kinda like the Mars of Utah.”

“We pretty much lost our minds out there, only with a space suit in hand,” Henderson wrote in an email to SPIN. The space suit was used for the video’s protagonist, a meandering spaceman who stumbles upon a bonfire started by Desert Noises. “It was a hell of a time,” Henderson recalls of the shoot. “We stayed in a yurt (Google it). We grilled, lit fires, laughed a lot and made the most of what life can be with friends.”
