Depeche Mode Working on New Album

Instead of listening to the slew of recent bands that rip off Depeche Mode, new wave enthusiasts will soon be able to listen to new material from the original semi-suicidal electronic act. Depeche Mode lead singer Dave Gahan and company are currently in the studio working on their first album since 2001’s Exciter. According to Pitchforkmedia.com, the band tentatively plans to release their new album in October. Depeche Mode is sharing recording time between Sound Design Studios in Santa Barbara, CA, and an undisclosed New York location; guitarist Martin Gore even played a DJ set in New York last week.
