The Deftones are planning to release a career-spanning live vinyl set sometime in the future, but another relic from the Sacramento metal unit's past has just surfaced online. As Antiquiet points out, a music video for the acoustic rendition of 1998 single "Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)" was recently discovered by fan site Deftones Latino. The original clip, directed by Frank Ockenfels, features the entire band underneath a bridge, performing the electric version of the track, which appeared on the Deftones' sophomore album, 1997's Around the Fur. This quieter second take, also directed by Ockenfels, makes use of the same location but focuses solely on frontman Chino Moreno, who spends four-and-a-half minutes huddled in a winter coat, locking eyes with the camera.

This just-unearthed footage was apparently shot at roughly the same time, about seven years before the acoustic take on "Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)" ended up on 2005's B-Sides & Rarities collection. Watch the alternate video up top, and compare it with the original version down below. If nothing else, the dusted-off short offers a fresh peek at the Deftones 15 years before they were caught crowd-surfing across New York City's Terminal 5.
