Jack White's latest supergroup (and SPIN cover alumni) the Dead Weather have announced a 13-date spring tour of the U.S., set to kick off April 5 in San Francisco.

During the trek, the quartet -- also featuring singer Alison Mosshart (the Kills), guitarist Dean Fertita (Queens of the Stone Age), and bassist Jack Lawrence (the Raconteurs) -- will drop into Coachella and the New Orleans Jazz Fest in support of their debut album, Horehound, which was selected as one of SPIN's 40 Best Albums of 2009.

The Dead Weather are known for their onstage energy and effervescent cool. Their first live performance last April at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City was one of SPIN's 30 Biggest Concerts of 2009.

"If your beef with today's crop of rock bands is that they're sexless, style-challenged dweebs who play their instruments like they're afraid to break a nail, then the Dead Weather certainly corrected that," SPIN music editor Charles Aaron wrote of the show.

With his flair for the dramatic, musical dynamo Jack White also directed the Weather's most recent music video for "I Cut Like a Buffalo," complete with lo-fi lighting effects and costumed dancers. Watch the clip here.

You can also catch White with yet another one of his bands, the White Stripes, in their Canadian tour documentary Under the Great White Northern Lights, which debuted at the Toronto Film Festival in September. Check out an exclusive clip here.

Tickets to see the Dead Weather live are available now for subscribers to the Vault, Third Man Records' online subscription service, and will be available to the public starting Friday, Feb. 5.
