Dave Grohl Is Directing Soundgarden's 'By Crooked Steps' Video Right Now

If Dave Grohl is a bit late sending out holiday cards this year, forgive him. He's had other things on his plate. First, he drummed on the next Queens of the Stone Age album, then he reunited Nirvana so they could be Paul McCartney's backing band, endlessly teased his Sundance-destined Sound City documentary, and today, he sits in the director's chair for Soundgarden's new music video for "By Crooked Steps."

Soundgarden shared the news today on Twitter that their partner-in-grunge would helm the latest video for their reunion disc King Animal.

Judging by photos Instagrammed from the set — including the one above, of Grohl hard at work — the video will have some Sons of Anarchy undertones, since there are biker jackets, tattooed bar maids, and Matt Cameron in a motorcycle helmet. Now if only Grohl could find some time to help out Bob Mould with his feature-film endeavors. Oh wait.
