"Fortunate Son" a 'Sound City' soundtrack romp

Dave Grohl, whose Sound City Players will be playing South By Southwest 2013, recently unveiled his Sound City: Real to Reel soundtrack, chatted with Stephen Colbert, was kinder to Redditors than Trent Reznor, and guest-hosted a late-night TV show for a week. Jimmy Kimmel, who also happens to host a late-night TV show, last week beefed with Morrissey about meat. The unstoppable force collided with the immovable, meat-like object last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where Grohl's Sound City Players, including John Fogerty and Rick Springfield, performed Creedence Clearwater Revival classic "Fortunate Son" (above) and Springfield-led Sound City rave-up "The Man That Never Was" (below). As Grohl told our own Chris Martins in SPIN's latest cover story, "I don't know a lot of musicians that suck."
