Dave Grohl Releases Decades-Old ‘Hooker On the Street’ Demo

On the heels of the Foo Fighters’ newest release, Sonic Highways, frontman Dave Grohl recently debuted “Hooker On the Street,” a solo track he wrote during his tenure with Nirvana in the 1990s. It’s a down and dirty rock cut that’s half-sung, half-rapped, and that certainly laid the groundwork for his later with the Foos.

Grohl premiered the three-minute long demo during Friday’s episode of Sonic Highways, during which he also revealed that Kurt Cobain once kissed him on the face after hearing the guitarist’s solo material for the first time. (Wonder if that’ll wind up in the cable network’s upcoming official Cobain documentary…) Stream “Hooker On the Street” below.
