Dashboard Confessional Count Crows

Way before Dashboard Confessional’s Chris Carrabba proposed a duet to Counting Crows frontman Adam Duritz, he already knew their voices would mesh well together. “I knew that my voice was going to match Adam’s because I sing along with him all the time, he just doesn’t know it,” Carrabba told MTV.com about the duo’s upcoming collaboration on Dashboard’s new LP. “I have a little higher range, he has a little lower range…It was a nice thing.” Carrabba and Duritz met when they both participated in the most recent Bridge School Benefit, curated by Neil Young (read more).

Dashboard’s forthcoming album has been three years in the making. Carrabba began work on it back in 2003, but abandoned the project because he wanted to write something more meaningful, MTV.com reports. Dashboard Confessional’s fourth album will be released sometime this spring, and they will play a major show during South by Southwest 2006 in March, followed by a handful of tour dates at colleges and universities.
