Damien Rice Dances and Convulses in ‘I Don’t Want to Change You’ Video

Damien Rice, I Don't Want To Change, Music Video

It’s been almost eight years since the singer/songwriter Damien Rice dropped his last album, 9, but that changes on November 10 with the release of My Favourite Faded Fantasy. To preview that project, the elusive Irishman has just premiered the video for “I Don’t Want To Change You.”

“Wherever you go / I could always follow,” Rice ominously sings while dripping wet, standing atop a dock as a sprawling mountain range unfolds in the distance behind him. Is the subtext here that the “Rootless Tree” musician swam through the lake in the background? Guess we’ll have to wait nearly another eight years to find out. Watch the gorgeously shot “Change” video, directed by frequent Sigur Rós collaborators Arni and Kinski, above, and stay for the Future Islands-esque dancing (convulsing?) halfway through.
